Who we are...

The new Volunteers in Action Program is a joint initiative of the Youth in Action Centre and Jeunesse Restigouche Youth!

What is the Youth in Action Centre?

The Youth in Action Centre is a social and recreational hub dedicated to supporting youth aged 12-17 in Restigouche County. Established in 2019, the Centre provides a youth-driven space where young people can access programs and opportunities to develop leadership, social, and life skills while forming meaningful connections.

Our mission

To create a sense of belonging for our local youth in a safe and inclusive environment, while providing programs and opportunities for self-discovery that will help youth shape their future.

Our vision

To inspire youth to take action, so that they can reach their full potential

Core Programs

To achieve this, in addition to the new Volunteers in Action Program, we offer three other core programs:

Youth Zone

A structured program promoting skill development and social engagement.

Drop Zone Program

A flexible, youth-driven space for recreation, creativity, and peer support.

2SLGBTQI+ Youth Group

A safe and affirming environment for youth to connect and build community.

Beyond these, we regularly organize special activities and events to meet the evolving needs of our community. The Youth in Action Centre is more than just a space—it is a vital resource for our region. Supporting youth means investing in our future leaders, entrepreneurs, and engaged citizens. It also strengthens our community through multicultural bridge-building and positive economic impact.

What is Jeunesse Restigouche Youth?

Jeunesse Restigouche Youth (JRY) has been a cornerstone of the Restigouche region since 1992, offering inspiring and essential programs tailored to the evolving needs of local youth.

Our mission is to support individuals under 30 in becoming self-sufficient and reaching their full potential within an educational and social context. By fostering partnerships between government agencies, the community, employers, and youth, we aim to help young people successfully integrate into the labour market.

At JRY, we believe in the power of volunteeringgoal-setting, and community strength. Recognizing youth for their efforts is essential, and through our various programs, we inspire confidence and encourage them to move forward with purpose.
